➳ October Favourites.

Hey there! I didn't really try a whole lot of new products or buy a lot of new things during October, so not a lot of favourites. I do however predict quite a few for November when I finally get around to trying everything I got for my Birthday!

As soon as I saw these shoes I knew that no matter how much they cost (as long as it was under $100) I would not be walking out the shop without them. Lucky for me they were on sale so I think I saved around $10 or more. Score! They were perfect for my 18th birthday, now I just need to practice walking in them.

I'm almost certain I choose a new nail colour to be obsessed with each month, and October was no exception. I wore this pretty purple colour from Rubi, the shade is called "Purple Ash" It's simply just a washed out pale purple.

Before my 18th birthday a waterproof mascara was the top of my shopping list as I had a feeling I would be going swimming on my birthday and I still wanted to be able to have makeup on before hand for photos. This mascara works just like their Regular "Get Big lashes mascara" which I use on a regular basis.

Eye pencils aren't usually a beauty product I would use however for Halloween at work I needed to create a more dramatic and dark eye look so I picked this up from Target and it worked a treat (also great for drawing on a cat nose and whiskers, as well as darkening red lipstick). As I have said in previous posts essence products are cheap, cruelty free and work pretty well.

I have never been a lip-gloss fan (long hair + Wind + Lip gloss = nightmare) however this Lip-gloss that my friend Marnie (tunamarnie.blogspot.com.au) got me for my birthday is amazing! Its not sticky and gross, its vegan and cruelty free and the colour is gorgeous (In the shade "Flirt"). Also side note it smells freaking amazing and I feel like I have used it every day since my Birthday.

I had been in denial for way too long that I needed new running shoes. Finally I accepted the fact that I would have to spend more than $50 for some genuinely good quality (and long lasting) running shoes. I have now discovered that these shoes are 100% worth the money, wearing them feels like you are walking on clouds and I never want to take them off (good thing they are considered "fashionable" as well as practical).

This bath bomb is probably my favourite ever from Lush, I'll let their little explanation speak for itself.
"Tisty Tosty Weaves a magic love spell with a scent of precious rose and orris root. The fragrant rose is surrounded with mystery and legend: it is said to have come from the Great Garden of ancient Persia; and Cleopatra is rumoured to have seduced Anthony with it. Rose perfume is said to ease tension and stress and to give people happy, positive feelings. You'll smell the real rose absolute in Tisty Tosty as soon as it hits the water. Give one away to someone you love and use one on yourself. Either way, the Tisty Tosty works its magic spell."
Sounds incredible right?!

I thought I might just throw in at end that I was not paid or asked to promote any of these items or products (you probably didn't think so but i'm just making sure) I only talk about things that I genuinely like and use, and that will never change. Thanks for reading!

➳ My 18th Birthday.

It has occurred to me that is has been way too long since my last post (sorry about that) and a few things have changed. The most drastic change is that as of the 24th of October I am now 18 years old, this you would probably already know if you follow me on Instagram (which you absolutely should).

Turning 18 is something I have been both waiting for and excited for yet also completely and utterly terrified for. Turing 18 seems to mean a couple of things, for example having slightly more freedom of choice, the pressure to actually get your life sorted, the ability to legally drink and stay in a pub after midnight and immature stupidity no longer being an excuse.

Anyway here are some photos from my small birthday get-together.

All the food was vegan (tell me how restrictive being vegan is) and majority gluten free. Oh and it was all also delicious.

There was fruit, dips, coconut date rolls, sour patch kids (yes these are vegan), oreos, gluten free oreos, ginger-nuts, arrowroot biscuits, Tim tams, lollipops and chips.

Of course a photo with my love.

It ended up being a 30° day but unfortunately the swimming pool was not quite there, we (being the fearless people we are) attempted to swim whilst momentarily freezing to death.

Being the typical Do-It-Yourself type of person I am I of course made my own cake. It also happened to be super easy, all I did was squish vanilla and chocolate soy ice cream into a cake mold and drizzle it with dark chocolate.

Since it was also Callan's birthday the day before mine a glass (or two) of moscato in the afternoon was of course needed.

And finishing off the remains of the ice-cream cake. (which even my anti-vegan friend enjoyed).

I also picked up some flowers in the morning from the lovely ladies at Fresh Stems at the Brickwork's. They Added in Green tricks without even knowing they were my favourites! as well as a billy button hiding somewhere among the other flowers.

Pretty much all the decorations were bought from Kmart, including the tassel/bunting banner, ice-cream honecomb (which will be a permanent decoration in my room), all tablecovers, paper garlands and yellow chevron plates. The ballons are all from Big W.

Me and Callan also ended the night with the most delicious gluten free and vegan pizza in existence (Regrets about not taking a photo). The Pizza was from Oasis Pizzas (they do free delivery yay) and it was their vegan supreme (yes, they have a vegan menu, Things are looking up in the world).

I am considering doing another post showing everything I got for my birthday as my amazing friends got me some really nice and cute presents!

Let me know if that's something you may want to see!

➳ Fruit Feast at the Beach.

Hello all you beautiful people! (Seriously your stunning, don't doubt it).

Today was glorious! Spent the day at the beach with some of my favourite people, eating fruit, drinking coconut water in the shade of a big umbrella (Thanks Claudia).

A trip to the beach never fails to calm me. Always a chilled vibe, the sounds of the waves, families enjoying the sun and endless picnics.

Opening coconuts is a lot more difficult then people make it look (obviously its totally worth the struggle though).

Successfully opened coconut! (sort of)

Our fruity feast included half a juicy watermelon with passion fruit (best combination) , super fresh oranges, strawberry papaya and of course bananas. (Sorry guys for forgetting the frozen grapes).

Just your typical drinking out of a coconut photo. (can someone please count how many times the word coconut appears in this post).

"Always try new things".
For so long I was convinced I hated coconut water, turns out it tastes 100x better when you drink it straight out of the coconut not from a bottle.

Jess's hat being way too photogenic.

After drinking all the coconut water its time to eat all the coconut meat! (good and good for you, however hard to get to).

Because we are obviously very mature adults, we decided to dig holes to stand in (It made sense why at the time).

Hey Nicole where did your legs go? (I swear Claudia did this too)

Full of happiness, if only the water was warmer so we could have gone swimming!

Outfit of the day:

Bikini - Cotton On.
Shirt - Jay Jays.
Shorts - Brand is Passion Fusion.
Hat - Cotton On.
Sunglasses (that I later on dropped and broke) - Cotton On.
Necklace - Kmart (surprisingly).
